About Kym
I grew up in these schools.
I began my educational journey in 1984 at Painted Rock Elementary. After that, I went on to attend Twin Peaks Middle School, and I graduated from Poway High School in 1996. Each school I attended falls within what is now designated as Trustee Area B (North Poway, East Rancho Bernardo).
Following my time at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, I dedicated fifteen years to marketing, including a stint at my family's business in Rancho Bernardo. Additionally, I was a coach for girls' lacrosse at Poway High for three years.
When my husband and I decided to start our family, there was no question about where we would raise our children. All three of our kids have attended schools in Area B. In 2010, my oldest began kindergarten at Painted Rock—the same elementary school I attended, twenty-six years earlier. It has been a fulfilling journey, and as a school board candidate, I am committed to continuing to support our community.
Fifteen years of showing up.
I have made giving back to these schools a full-time job, and I love it. Now that my kids have grown, I can give this role the attention it deserves.
Thus far, my time has been focused on my kids schools but as your trustee you can be assured I will consider all the schools in Poway Unified School District my home with the families of Area B in the forefront of my mind.
I will stay on top of what matters most to students, parents, and taxpayers.
